Unity in Your Relationship

You cannot underestimate the importance of unity and teamwork in your relationship. Without it you might as well not even be in a love relationship. It’s having that special person who has your back, is your best friend and support system that makes unity in your relationship powerful, emotionally strong, and special.

If you’re not working together as a team in your relationship day to day, what are doing? Are you living individual lives that parallel each other, but never really connect? Are you more like friends with benefits than a love match where one partner seems like a continuation of the other? True partners are meshed together on so many levels that they seem almost like one unit in two bodies. Two hearts beating as one, with two minds thinking the same thought.

Pulling together instead of apart

To use an antiquated idea, think of a team pulling a wagon. Horses and oxen needed to pull together to get those wagons across the plains. To get the freight to market it took a pair of equally yoked animals to pull together. When you and your partner are pulling together you are operating as a team, with double strength, power and abilities that one of you doesn’t have on your own.

Checks and balances

Having someone on your side, on your team gives you other aspects to your life that you don’t have when you are single: Accountability, motivation and a reason to be your best self just to name a few. When you’re in a close and connected relationship, you have someone who is looking out for your best interest and has your well-being in mind. They will keep you accountable; in check when necessary, root you on and cheerlead for you to succeed in life.

A true partnership in the form of a love relationship means that you don’t have to face tough times alone. You have a reason to strive, even when you don’t feel like it. You have someone depending on you, and on whom you depend. When you succeed, they succeed and vice versa.

The feelings of accomplishment this provides are extremely satisfying for you both. You know that you always have somebody in your corner that is rooting for you and helping you in the background. Simply knowing you have that person on your side can make all the difference.

Building a life together

Two people together working towards the same goals, with the same ideals and plans are virtually unstoppable. With your partner by your side as a team member with unity in your relationship you can accomplish great things together. Having that one person in the world that loves you more than anything and whom you love in return, side by side until the end makes for a pretty amazing life!
