Welcome to the 56th episode of The Couples Expert Podcast: A Caring Divorce Attorney… Is There Such a Thing?

It is a sad fact that the divorce rate in the United States today hovers at approximately 53%, not the highest national rate in the world, but up there, certainly. Last year, in the state of Arizona alone, more than 24,000 couples divorced, over 16,000 of whom lived in Maricopa County.

One consolation is the fact that there are professionals who have dedicated themselves to the effort of lowering this rate by providing much-needed counseling services. Another is the presence of other professionals who, should the decision to divorce be made, can actually help to make the process as smooth and pain-free as possible. Yes, there are divorce attorneys out there who have chosen their profession in the interest of genuinely helping their clients. They are authentic and caring. One such attorney in Maricopa County is Ryan Claridge.

Not only does he have a heart and does he care about his
clients, but he’s someone who believes…that couples can
have that special relationship…

I have sent many potential clients home because they
weren’t yet committed to not committing anymore.”

Join Stuart and Ryan as they discuss the ins and outs of divorce proceedings and the various considerations that need to be taken into account. Divorce is a traumatic event, and as in any traumatic situation, it’s very difficult to think clearly and rationally. Powerful emotions – anger, betrayal, sadness – can cloud a person’s judgment to the point that they even begin to question whether divorce is the right solution. Especially when children are involved, the decision to proceed with a separation or a dissolution of a marriage is not one to be taken lightly, so it is important to seek the guidance of those professionals who can help to reframe thought processes into something coherent and sure.

I want to get my clients to a point where they are
emotionally comfortable with the process and able to move
through the dissolution, or whatever family law matter
they have, rationally.
